Get to know your designer.
From a young age, I was always artistic. Mimicking popular cartoon characters from my childhood, I would redraw the likes of Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny, Snoopy, Woodstock, Voltron and many others. Friends would constantly ask me to draw their favorite characters for them, which I happily obliged. I remember around 8 years old proclaiming to my parents - “One day, I’m going to work for Disney...I’m going to be an animator when I grow up.” My parents happily replied: “You will do whatever your heart guides you to.”
As I grew older and got into middle school, I began taking art classes and learning about shading, perspective color theory...you know, all the “artsy” stuff. This continued through high school and my high school art teacher, Ms. Bokinski, told me that I had a real talent and that she would certainly give me a recommendation to any art program that I wanted to apply for. I took her up on her offer, and applied for a Graphic Design program at Rivier College in New Hampshire.
Fast-forward 4 years of endless design projects and numerous all-nighters and in May of 1996 I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Graphic Design degree, with a concentration in Drawing and Illustration. In the years that have followed, I have worked in the Graphic Design field both as a Freelance Designer, as well as a salaried Employee; as a Desktop Publisher and as a Prepress Specialist in both Offset and Flexography printing environments.
My professional experiences over the past 17 years allow agriesti designs to not only generate high impact designs for its clients, but to also provide printers with press-ready files that require minimal preflighting, which in turn, saves you - my clients, time and money.
